If the user selects ‘Multi select’ or ‘CheckBox,’ each option for an answer carries the weight that the user attributes to it as a percentage for that control. The percentage (weight) for each answer depends upon the number of options the user creates.

Example 1

For example, let’s say that the user creates three options for an answer:

‘Construction’;
‘Reforestation'; and
‘None of the above.’

Moreover, let’s say that the user wants to put all the weight on ‘Construction.’ Simply, the user must select ‘1’ for ‘Construction’ and not touch the weights for ‘Reforestation’ and ‘No’.

Thus, when the assessee clicks ‘Construction’ during their assessment, they will get 100% of the points for that control. (And, conversely, if they select ‘Reforestation’ and/or ‘None of the above,’ they will get no points.)

Example 2

Let’s say the user wants to assign a different amount of points for ‘Construction’ and ‘Reforestation’. Of course, they can do this as they could select:

‘2’ for ‘Construction’;
‘1’ for ‘Reforestation’; and
‘0’ for ‘None of the above’.

The way to work out (as a percentage) how many points the assessee will receive by selecting any of the answers is by adding the weights together (in this case, 2 + 1 = 3), and using that figure to divide each respective option by. Therefore, in this case:

‘Construction’ will gain 67% (or ⅔) of the points;
‘Reforestation’ will gain 33% (or ⅓) of the points; and
‘None of the above’ will gain 0 (or 0/6) of the points.
